President of Oregon State University Visiting Chulalongkorn University

On 26th February 2025, a delegation from Oregon State University, led by President Professor Jayathi Y. Murthy, visited Chulalongkorn University. The delegation was welcomed by Professor Wilert Puriwat, D.Phil., President of Chulalongkorn University, along with Assistant Professor Tewarit Sarachana, M.T., Ph.D., Assistant to the President; Professor Dr. Voranop Viyakarn, Director of the Aquatic Resources Research Institute; Associate Professor Dr. Piyaphong Chenra, Head of the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science; and Assistant Professor Dr. Sukonmeth Jitmahantakul from the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science. The meeting was held in the Reception Room, 2nd Floor, Chamchuri 4 Building.

The Oregon State University delegation also included Mr. Shawn Scoville, President and CEO of the OSU Foundation; Ms. Jen Humphreys, Administrative Director, Office of the President; and Mr. Davinder Kumar, Vice President of Corporate & Public Relations, INTO.

During the meeting, both institutions explored potential collaborations in Engineering, Business, Agriculture, Science, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). They agreed to strengthen student and research exchange programs and discussed the possibility of joint initiatives, including a non-degree program.
