Chulalongkorn University Welcomes Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School to Advance Collaboration in Science, Technology, and Innovation

On 8th July 2025, Asst. Prof. Tewarit Sarachana, MT, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for International Affairs,welcomed Assoc. Prof. Zhang Yi, Ph.d., Director, Office of Global Affairs; Institute of Future Human Habitat from Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, at the Meeting Room, 18th Floor Chaloem Rajakumari 60 Building. The meeting was also joined by Dr. Wuttichai Reainthippayasakul, Assistant Dean, Faculty of Science; Assoc. Prof. Athipat Thamrongthanyalak, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Science; Mr. Li Jiong, Senior Specialist for Foreign-related Projects; and Ms. Shu Li, Specialist for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs.
On this occasion, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School led by Assoc. Prof. Zhang shared the strong commitment to driving innovation, placing science and technology at the core of its academic mission. The university introduced its visionary “6+1 Framework,” which focuses on six key areas: Materials Science; Data Science & IT; Biopharmaceutical & Health Engineering; Ocean Engineering; Future Human Habitats; Environment & Ecology; Innovation Management, alongside Business as a crucial connecting element. This framework reflects the ambition to shape the future through interdisciplinary research and real-world impact.
Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School expressed a keen interest in forming a closer partnership with Chulalongkorn University. They proposed a future discussion on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that would pave the way for academic exchanges and joint initiatives, starting with a student exchange program. In addition, the proposed partnership aims to create enriching experiences for students and open new opportunities for shared research and innovation between the two leading institutions.
