The ASEAN University Network (AUN) Secretariat, in collaboration with Macquarie University, is pleased to invite you to the English Medium Instruction (EMI) Masterclass Workshop – “Deliver Impactful Programmes in English: Engaging. Effective. Practical.”

As universities across ASEAN expand English-medium instruction, the success of English-taught programmes increasingly depends on the quality of delivery, not only the language of instruction. English-medium instruction is not the teaching of the English language, but rather the delivery of academic subjects across all disciplines in English.

When implemented effectively, it strengthens learning outcomes, enhances student engagement, and reinforces institutional credibility—particularly in classrooms where most learners are non-native English speakers.

The EMI Masterclass Workshop offers a practical and strategic platform for institutional leaders to strengthen implementation through approaches that enhance programme quality, student experience, and long-term sustainability.

Through this workshop, your institution will be better positioned to: 

  • strengthen the learning quality and consistency of EMI programmes,
  • support student engagement and satisfaction in English-medium classrooms,
